Job Description and Responsibilities
About the Role:
The Protein Associate plays a hands-on role in the Atlanta Community Food Bank's mission to fight hunger by safely and efficiently repacking frozen protein items for distribution to partner agencies and families in need. This position works in a cold-storage environment and helps ensure food safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the repack process.
Repack Operations:
- Sort, portion, label and package POULTRY and other items for distribution.
- Operate safely in cold and frozen environments while following all food handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace in compliance with food safety standards.
- Follow daily production goals and communicate any equipment or product issues to the supervisors.
Quality and Safety:
- Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.
- Follow HACPP and food safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with inventory checks and help track product movement from receiving to storage.

Basic Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Ability to work in cold or frozen environments for extended periods.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs as part of daily work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.
Preferred:
- Previous warehouse, food handling, or production experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
Shifts / Schedule
Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Must be available to work weekends and flexible hours, as needed.
