The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we have been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring on-time delivery and quality control of products.
  • Ensure picked items match the quantity, quality, and specifications required for each order.
  • Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and cycle counting activities as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety standards, handling procedures, and storage guidelines to ensure food quality and freshness.
  • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment, supporting colleagues and participating in training and development activities as required.
  • Ensure accurate warehouse inventory in all staging and storage areas, including Ambient, Refrigerated and Freezer locations.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Ability to utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product placement
  • Ability to appropriately use electronic WMS and/or other tracking system(s)
  • Properly utilize First in First out (FIFO) procedures
  • Knowledgeable with RF Scanners
  • Knowledgeable of warehouse safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and best practices in workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling techniques.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
  • Must have experience operating stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and electric pallet jacks
  • Understanding safe handling, loading/unloading, and maneuvering of materials and inventory.

Shifts / Schedule

  • 40-hour week; Mon-Fri. 8am - 5pm (or until finished).
  • Must be flexible as needed.
